Welcome to Hittin' the Web With Matt Barranti

Welcome to our new home on the Internet! We look forward to visiting with old friends, and making new ones.

In the beginning, it was about the music… It is still about the music, and we are only getting started.

Visit often, take what you need, but be sure to leave something behind!

The MBB is auditioning Drummers for 2006. Been spending time getting some things in order, and getting ready for Christmas. Now it's time to get the band in order... Want to come out fresh in 06. If you know of a Drummer who might fit the bill, let Matt know. Matt Barranti

New gigs are added to Matt's schedule all the time. Check back often to catch his band and The Bratz (Matt's acoustic showcase) in your area.

Bass to Bass - David Dubas' Interview with Oteil
Posted by: Lana on Sunday, January 11, 2004 - 05:35 AM
All Topics David Dubas, bass player with the Matt Barranti Band recently got together with Oteil for an interview which Hittin' the Web is happy to share with you now. Thanks David and Oteil!

Q. 2003 has been a pretty big year for you. As usual, you've been pretty busy. What can you tell me about your recent tour of Japan with fellow bass virtuoso Victor Wooten?

That was something I've wanted to do for a long time. It was everything that I imagined it would be and more. It's really a great challenge to play with someone who blows you off the stage every night. It's hard on the ego but it makes you reach deeper into yourself if you don't get trapped in trying to "compete". He's such a force of nature that you can't help but be part of the audience even though you are onstage with him. He's also one of the most gracious humans that I've ever worked with. We played Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, and Kobe.

Hmm lets see here, Lanaroo... seems like it was a long time ago.... lol...
Ok, here I go. Before I left Friday morn' (11/14), the power went out a few times. The winds were clocking up to 50 plus miles per hour, or so I'm told every time it came back on, the burgler alarm came on. So it was a up and down night. Got up around 6:30 am - usually dont get up till after 9, but Pam wanted a early start...lol....( yea right, with me heheheh). So I loaded up the Coachman with more than enough guitars and clothes, and Jake the Doberman,( that ole Boy Scout thang..of 'being prepared') and left.....
